Pornsit Jiraporn (P.J.) is a Professor of Finance at Pennsylvania State University- School of Graduate Professional Studies (SGPS). In addition, he is an invited Lecturer at several universities in Thailand, including Thammasat University, Mahidol University, The National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA), and Chiang Mai University. Formerly, he was an Assistant Professor at Texas A&M International University in Laredo, Texas, from 2002-2006.
Specializing in corporate finance, Dr. Jiraporn has conducted research in several areas such as corporate governance, earnings management, capital structure, dividend policy, corporate diversification, and mergers and acquisitions. His research has appeared or will appear in a large number of journals, including Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Banking and Finance, Journal of Financial Research, Journal of Empirical Finance, Financial Analysts Journal, Journal of Financial Services Research etc.
Dr. Jiraporn is also serving as an Associate Editor for Finance Research Letters , a journal published by Elsevier.
Dr.Jiraporn is also an avid badminton player. His sister, Pom Jiraporn , now serves as an Assistant Professor of Marketing at The State University of New York at Oswego . She received her Ph.D. in Marketing from The State University of New York at Binghamton .
